  • The county has missed some opportunities to bring important businesses to Tooele County.   The County needs to be more polished and proactive in its approach to bringing economic partners into the County.  Where appropriate, economic incentive may be used to compete with favorable proposals.

 

  • The residential population is exploding, but commercial and industrial is lagging behind.     If growth isn’t balanced the County will just be a bedroom community for the Salt lake Valley and the county will struggle to pay the cost of government.

  • Assets need to be more carefully guarded.  The attempted sale and management of the Utah Motorsports Campus facility has led to loss of contracts (e.g. Ford Driving School) and diminished the overall value of the track facility.

  • The Deseret Peak Facility is routinely busy on weekends, but no commercial development is present to improve revenue,
